Republic Day Celebration

Republic Day was celebrated in SAC in a traditional attire. Rev. Erik Breye S.J. was the main Celebrant of the Eucharistic Celebration. After the  breakfast, National Tricolour was unfurled in the International Basket Ball Court with parade, speech and patriotic songs. Rev. Fr. Stephen Fernandes of Shimla-Chandigarh Diocese was the Chief Guest during the ceremony who unfurled the Tricolur. In his speech he asked the citizens to observe laws. He said, "There is a craving in every one. Every one is craving for peace. One of the recipes of peace is respect for humanity. One of the ingredient in it is respect for life. Peace can be achieved by respecting laws of nature, of society, nation, church and God. Therefore, let us strive to observe the laws."

Br. Robert Pradeep Nag of I Theology delivered the Republic Day speech. The Choir sung a meaningful Patriotic song and Br. Mukesh Kerketta invited all to honour the leaders of the nations with slogans. Br. Naresh was the MC of the programme. In the afternoon, brothers were permitted to go to Morabadi Hockey ground to watch live hockey match between Delhi and Ranchi.

Sexual Violence and Causes of Rape: A Talk by Prof. Dr. Michael E. Jones

Prof. Michael E. Jones addressing

Prof. Dr. Michael E. Jones, a research scholar from USA, addressed the staff, students and neighbouring communities in SAC Auditorium on Sunday, 11th January 2015 at 6 pm., on the topic “Sexual Violence and reasons that lead to Rape.”

Sexual Revolution took place in America in 1970’s and it is being happening now in India. India the advent of sexual revolution was in late 90’s. Films, adds, TV shows, porn media, etc, increased the sexual violence in the country. When a person releases the sexual passions it creates monster in him/her. There are two cultures amongst us: City of God and City of Man. City of God is full of love of God. It is full of service. There is a bloodshed here, but the bloodshed gives eternal life.  On the other hand, City of Man is dominated by Libido dominandi. It also sheds blood, but the bloodshed here makes the person a vampires. If you want eternal life, practice moral life and if you want to be otherwise be a vampire.

Pornography is not the issue of freedom, but it is a weapon of war. It diverts the attention of youth and enslaves them. It should be noted that the power of a country is in youth. It is the duty of the priests and religious to uphold moral values in schools and institutions and teach the people not to be carried away with negativity.
